About Sidelight Theatre
Our Goal
We're dedicated to staying true to the passian and solidarity of community theatre. We aren't here to win awards (though we wont complain!), but to produce something memorable and enjoyable for not just our audiences, but performers and crew alike. Our team believe that there is nothing more special then a group of people banding together, overcoming the difficulties of non "professional theatre", creating something spectacular for an audience, abd that is what we set out to accomplish for every single production.
What We Do
At Sidelight, we like to believe we specialise in immersion, creating a special bond between our audiences and onstage performers. We handcraft every aspect of our shows from set, lighting, sound, staging etc, to make sure our audiences not only get what they pay for, but leave the theatre doors feeling part of the narrative our crew works tirelessly to portray. When we can, we always like to utilise our venue and its seating, so front row beware!
Meet the Team
Director - Jayden Evans
Jayden is not only our current director, but the founder of Sidelight Theatre. He decided to create Sidelight after spending years both attending and participating in theatre, becoming fascinated in every litttle detail required to create a solid production
His goal in every scene he directs is to find life in each line and stage direction, encouraging the actors to immerse themselves in their roles and experiement with character choices. For Jayden, every rehersal is an opportunity to collaberate and explore beyond the script, working with his performers to produce the truly spectacular theatre that every member of our crew can feel proud of.
Musical Director - Will Anstee

From live musicians to ambient soundscapes, their work heightens emotional beats and anchors the narrative through sound.
Choreographer - Ricky Evans
Our choreographer creates movement that tells a story without words. Specialising in immersive and physical theatre, they design routines that are integral to the audience's journey, often blurring the line between performer and spectator.
The choreographer works across disciplines, blending dance, gesture, and spatial awareness to enhance the narrative flow and audience engagement.
